This one has been sometime coming. I have a chronic illness and it has been quite debilitating in recent months.
However, here it is now and I am quite pleased with it. The original is with acrylic paints and is on “acrylic paper”. It is about 30 x 20 cm.
The scene here is not far from home. As I have said, it is over the fence, down the hill and in the trees.
I have been trying to be more adventurous with my colours, for example, using some crimson in the shadows. Still very timid, really! But it’s a beginning and I am very much looking forward to my next painting. I am already looking for a subject matter.
it’s lovely .
thank you, your comment is appreciated!
Nice work, Adam! The crimson in the shadows is my favorite part of this work. I think it makes your painting pop. When it comes to painting, I also have a hard time trying out “adventurous” colors. It’s strange how our brains work, isn’t it? It can be difficult to convince ourselves that unexpected colors will look good in our paintings. I look forward to seeing more of your work!
Megan, thanks so much for your comment, very encouraging! I feel I want to use colour to the max and I know I should just choose a subject and “go for it” but something always holds me back, damn it! I’ll see what I can do on my next painting.
I’m trying to decide what to paint … just fed up with these damn trees!
best wishes
Adam
Reminds me of a trout fishing spot from my childhood.
